Early hours New Year's Day, leaving a bad party on the way to a worse one, we stumbled on a corpse. We stared in silence for a while and then continued walking.

It was 2 blocks from the police station.

We figured they'd find it soon enough.

Every New Year's Eve I'd mutter through clenched teeth
"Well, it can't possibly get any worse than this past year."

Of course, it always did.

We ended up at a bar full of sullen trannies and sailors. Everyone in the place was looking for a fight but nobody had the ambition to start one. 5 hours into the new year and we were already burned out on it.

If God were to appear and offer to erase a year from my life, I'd have it be 1994.
